Bio







Jen Furer is a transformation coach, a lifestyle and fitness advocate, a mother of four, author of immigration memoir “Out of Status”, blogger, Scholar Chief for Advancement for Rural Kids and television talk show host of MakilalaTV, the first Filipino-American television talk show in the New York area.

She was recognized by United Federation of Fil-Am Educators (UNIFFIED) as one of the Most Influential Teacher of the Year (2015).  The Outstanding Filipino American in NY (TOFANY) recognized Jen for Courage and Conviction in 2013 and Media and Publishing in 2015 for MakilalaTV.

Jen has a degree in Psychology, Guidance and Counseling and had a successful career in Information Technology Management, which she left in 2001 to focus on motherhood and volunteer work.  Now in her 50’s, Jen is focusing on exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle strategies that promote vitality and youthfulness.
